Investment Banking Associate

Exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, boutique investment banking firm dedicated to the energy transition! The business focuses on strategic advisory for clients across the full renewable energy spectrum; leveraging capital markets and sector technology expertise to provide strategic project finance, capital raising and M&A solutions.

As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will be afforded a high-level of responsibility and autonomy from the outset, and will work closely with mid-senior level management, reporting to a Director on the deals team.

The Associate/Senior Associate will take the lead on assigned deal and supervise the work produced by the Analysts or Associates. Additional responsibilities will include participation in financial and business due diligence; serve as the Engagement Lead on specific client accounts; pre-engagement planning and execution and with final deliverable development.

Responsibilities:Responsible for analyzing and building sophisticated financial models and valuations used in client proposals and strategic plans, including DCF, trading comparable, tax equity structures and debt financing Design and analyze tax equity structuresManage day-to-day deal execution, interacting with senior deal team members, client management teams, transaction counterparties and other advisorAssist clients in due diligence by coordinating the information flow, supervising calls and meetings between the parties, as well as reviewing and analyzing company informationWork independently, producing high quality deliverables such as Confidential Investment Memorandums, board materials and other presentation materials for use in tax equity financing and M&A transactions or client pitchesProvide mentorship, leadership and supervision to Analysts

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field; Master’s degree with emphasis in Finance, Engineering, Math or Economics preferredMust pass SIE, Series 79, and 63 exams within the first four months of onboarding with firm Minimum 2+ years of strategic business consulting, valuation, and/or investment banking experience Minimum 2+ years of experience with tax equity structuring and transactions Minimum 2+ years of renewable energy industry experience Strong Microsoft Excel skills Financial modeling experience requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSolid organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to multitaskPassion for renewable energy and decarbonization
