Senior Project Manager

Job SummaryThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel across various project sites. This role is critical in ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The PM will also lead a team of logistics professionals from within the client’s office and work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and optimize project timelines.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support the timely and efficient delivery of materials, equipment, and personnel to designated oil and gas project sites.Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment while ensuring the team's adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and procurement specialists, to align logistics activities with project timelines and requirements.Monitor and optimize logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize project delays.Collaborate with external stakeholders, including vendors, transportation companies, and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations and standards.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and reliable delivery schedules.Prepare and present regular progress reports, budget updates, and risk assessments to senior management, highlighting key logistics achievements, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.Proactively identify potential risks and devise contingency plans to mitigate any adverse impacts on project timelines, costs, and safety.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in logistics management, integrating relevant innovations to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 8 years of experience in project management within the freight forwarding industry with an emphasis on oil and gas industry or constructionProven track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations, demonstrating a deep understanding of supply chain management, transportation, and warehouse operationsStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders across multiple projects and locationsIn-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards within the oil and gas sector, with a focus on maintaining compliance throughout logistics operationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost-saving initiativesExceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environmentStrong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the capacity to build and maintain strategic partnerships with key vendors and service providers

Preferred QualificationsPMP (Project Management Professional) certificationProficiency in using industry-specific software and tools for logistics planning, tracking, and reporting. Working knowledge of industry-standard scheduling software (e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Power BI)
