📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
As the VP of Accounting and Finance, you will oversee all day-to-day accounting, FP&A, and strategic planning. This is a very influential, executive role and requires hands-on collaboration with all departments and stakeholders.
You must possess a strong SaaS, Recurring Revenue, and Retail/Logistics/E-commerce / physical goods background, have been at a start-up, and have helped build and lead lean teams. This person will understand business contracts and pricing, financial risk management, and cash flow management.
About the RoleDrive performance management tied to key metrics/KPIs/business drivers that provide a forward-looking view into trends requiring management decisions and actionsImprove the quality, timeliness, and reliability of financial analysis and key performance metrics available to executive management and the Board, including forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation in all functional areasOversee the enterprise-level budget process and the consolidation of brand-level budgets into a consolidated financial planAutomate processes and systems to achieve efficiency gains and quality improvements on a sequential basisSupport capital raising by anticipating due diligence requests, gathering, and synthesizing data from brand and platform groups, and presenting data in an articulate manner that supports the company narrativeDevelop long-term plans and strategies to position the company for a successful IPOWork cross-functionally to enhance the financial and business acumen of all leadersBecome a trusted partner to achieve targets, provide financial insight, and support operational and strategic decisionsLead quarterly/annual strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to improve overall company performanceEstablish and maintain robust internal controls to manage the company’s credit risk and ensure compliance with laws and regulationsOversee audits and work closely with external auditors
About You:Degree in Accounting or FinancePreferably Big 4 / CPA backgroundStrong operational acumen, team building, and leadership experiencePrevious experience in a high-growth tech start-upMinimum of 9+ years of relevant financial experience, including direct experience at a growth stage startup with diverse, heavily matrixed, and multinational customersBackground in developing procedures and policies for customer underwriting and risk managementCapital markets experience managing credit facilities and multiple debt partnersDeep experience managing financial planning and analysis initiativesExcellent negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated proficiency in developing data rooms and closing fundraising roundsExperience leading lending initiatives within an organization and helped build financial operations from the ground upBackground building and forming new team structures
