In Hanover, PA we produce Rings and Seals for the Aerospace and Industrial markets. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit. We are looking to hire a Machine Operator to work 2nd Shift (3PM
11PM). All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW). Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required.
Role Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Follow all plant safety rules and procedures.Follow all 5S and Lean manufacturing principles.Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and process sheets.Perform machine set-up and operation.Utilize gages and tooling within the department for set ups and operations.Make fixtures as needed.Assist with experimental production and trial production parts for engineering.Use calipers and micrometers.Work within tight tolerances per production routers.Assist others in developing methods and procedures.Set-up machines for General Operators.May be required to wash rings and dip in protective coating.Perform preventative maintenance function within work cell.Communicate with department lead and supervisor on regular basis.Use of a variety of instruments and tools such as face grinder, mills, manual lathe, internal grinder and outside diameter grinder, micrometer/caliper, etc.
Job Requirements: Due to the nature of the business, candidate must be a US Citizen.High School Diploma or GED required.Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.Flexibility with work hours during training period.Ability to stand for 8-hours per day, 5-days per week.Ability to lift 35-pounds (anything over 35-pounds will use lift assist or team lift).All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW).Requires continuous attention to operations.Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and process sheets.Ability to make fixtures as needed.Ability to use calipers and micrometers on a daily basis.Confidence in working within tight tolerances per production routersManufacturing operator experience a plus.
