The Level II or III Maintenance Technician maintains the efficiency of machinery and equipment in a continuous improvement-based environment, while also creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Position is responsible for setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining production/manufacturing equipment and machinery. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician position is accountable for the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipmentPerforms scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine serviceProvides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipmentPerforms simple machinist duties and responsibilitiesPerforms mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinesReads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceDiagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustmentsPerforms regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilitiesPerforms a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functionsUses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing dutiesDetects faulty operations and defective material; reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervisionComplies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas

Mechanical

Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a few plant production systems and equipment.Capable of performing all minor mechanical rebuilds and assists in all major rebuilds.Can perform set-up procedures on some production plant equipment.Troubleshoots and repairs most mechanical issues on plant production equipment.Understands operation of most auxiliary support systems.Electrical:Able to replace all like-for-like electrical components and set them up.Troubleshoots some electrical issues using proper tools and techniques.May require assistance with device replacement setup.

Education and Work Experience

3 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience ; experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings), product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs), troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns), and reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)
