📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
SummaryPer Sé Group is working with a leading Mid-Atlantic Mechanical contractor looking to hire a Preconstruction Manager in their Baltimore office. This role will focus on estimating, buy-out, procurement, and detailed submittal documentation for large commercial and industrial construction projects. Plumbing and process piping experience is preferred, HVAC experience is a bonus.
Responsibilities Establish and maintain budget control over Mechanical & Plumbing scopes during preconstruction phases of the project.Manage estimate compilation including analysis of takeoff, subcontractor scoping, general conditions, labor mix, etcCoordinate bid efforts, process RFI’s, and interface between bidding community and design team members on negotiated projectsAssist field operations with change order pricingMaintain working knowledge of MEP codes and changes to codesAssist in the development and training of estimating staffAssist the marketing department in preparation of responses to Request for Proposals and Request for QualificationsAssist in the trade partner prequalification processDevelops and maintains internal client relationshipsLead estimate review and bid process team meetingsPrepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontractorsReview labor productivity rates of current and past projects to maintain an understanding of the operation team’s capabilities.
Preferred Skills and Expertise 10+ years of estimating/pre-con experience in Mechanical construction coming out of a mechanical contractorLarge-scale commercial and/or industrial construction project background requiredBS in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred
