Job Summary
An independent insurance agency is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual for the role of Operations Manager. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the agency, leveraging expertise in insurance industry practices and technological proficiency with the Applied Systems EPIC platform. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including system administration, IT troubleshooting, user management, equipment procurement, licensing compliance, agent appointments, continuing education oversight, financial management, personnel supervision, and fostering a positive work environment. Responsibilities
Serve as the system administrator for the Applied Systems EPIC platform, ensuring its functionality and troubleshooting any related issues.Manage computer and printer networking, user administration, and the procurement of necessary equipment for optimal agency operations.Oversee the setup and maintenance of workstations and laptops, including software downloads and IT outsourcing coordination.Maintain licensing requirements for agents, manage company appointments, monitor continuing education compliance, and prepare annual reports as needed.Lead the hiring, training, and counseling of agency employees, fostering a cohesive and positive workplace culture.Handle accounting tasks such as bank reconciliation, direct bill and agency bill reconciliations, bill payments, deposit processing, invoicing, and serving as a liaison for 401k and profit-sharing plans.Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate tax reporting.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelorβs degree from a four-year college or university; or four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 4 years of experience in the insurance industry.Completion of an insurance certification or designation.Proven ability to lead and achieve results through others.Strong multitasking abilities with excellent organizational skills.Proficiency in problem analysis and resolution.Willingness to comprehend and contribute to broader business practices within the organization.Excellent customer orientation, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities.Team player with a commitment to company values.Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.Familiarity with business practices and accounting principles, with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.Previous EPIC experience is required.Previous experience serving as a system administrator for the Applied Systems EPIC platform is highly preferred.
