📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
TKWA is a full-service architecture, planning, and interior design studio with offices in Milwaukee, Cedarburg, and Seattle. We are a collaborative team of creative thinkers, craftspeople, and advocates who are passionate about designing regenerative places that strengthen communities.
We are seeking a talented person with experience in both commercial and residential interior design. This is a part-time position with the potential for full-time employment depending on workload and range of experience. Work will be performed primarily on-site in our Wisconsin offices. Principal Responsibilities:Develop beautiful, sustainable, and innovative design solutions through all phases of a project, from concept through construction.Work with multidisciplinary teams in research, design, selection, and specification of interior finishes, fixtures, and equipment.Prepare drawings, schedules, and specifications to support design and construction.Work with product manufacturers and vendors to keep interior finishes library up to date.
Qualifications:3+ years of interior design experience, preferably in both commercial and residential designBachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalentNCIDQ certification preferredStrong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and with minimal supervision, as well as with a teamStrong breadth of knowledge & understanding of interior materials and their specificationExperience in selecting FF&EUnderstanding of commercial & residential building codes and regulationsComfortable managing multiple tasks and projectsWorking knowledge of sustainable practices & materials
Software:Familiarity with both 2D CAD and 3D modeling software (Vectorworks and Sketchup preferred)Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (preferred, but not required)
