Scope: This position is responsible for complete control of all hoisting activities.

Duties/Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to): responsible for complete control and operation of all hoisting activities. Perform minor maintenance and to be able to troubleshoot issues on hoists. Preventive maintenance practices as well as general mechanical practices. Must be willing to work overtime including callouts.

Skills/Knowledge/Character

The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions for the position with or without reasonable accommodation. * These duties include (but are not limited to): Must safely hoist personnel, product, supplies and equipment and therefore must have exceptional safety awareness.

Experience: This position requires a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of strong background in hoist operation. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of bell signal procedures. Must be able to accurately receive and send bell signals. Must be able to conduct regular inspections and timely report mechanical and/or electrical problems with the hoist. Must be able to perform minor mechanical work on hoist. Must be able to perform service work on hoist. Must maintain good housekeeping. Must be able to work productively and communicate effectively. Must be able to work well under pressure at critical moments. Must be willing to work overtime including call-outs. Must have above-average attendance, disciplinary and safety record.

Education/License/Certification/Training: Must be able to pass company Medical physical every 6 Months.

Physical Demands: Must be able to use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, walking. Must be able to use fall protection.

Safety: Must wear all personal protective equipment and follow all safety rules and regulations in accomplishing the job functions. Candidate is also responsible for encouraging crew members’ compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
