Lead Process Engineer

Are you our next Lead Process Engineer?

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer Lead for our Florida Mining operations that will lead and direct a high-performing team of engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation to support seamless operations and drive excellence in engineering initiatives. As the Process Engineer Lead, you will provide technical support to the operations group and is responsible for front-end engineering support of capital projects. You will serve as an active contributor to Mosaic cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. You will be frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives. The successful candidate will assist our team in improving our unique industrial and mining process through process systems design and maintenance troubleshooting.

What will you do?

Champion the professional development of engineering team members through comprehensive training, mentoring and ongoing support, ensuring continuous growth and skill enhancement within the team.Provide process engineering support to the operations group including the including pumping systems, plants and the Integrated Operations Center. The role will look for troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention opportunities.Responsible for leveraging ideas and assistance including resources across the mine and plantProvide front-end engineering development of capital projects including planning, identifying business objectives, identifying, and evaluating viable options, preliminary design development, and preliminary economic and risk mitigation evaluationResponsible for commissioning and start-up support for assigned projectsSupport current business initiatives including specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sitesEnsure site safety and environmental standards are being followed through safety audits, risk assessments, and housekeeping toursVigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workersReport any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employeesProvide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standardsManage performance issues when necessaryDevelop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talentManage a team of 3-5 Engineer's 50-60% of the time

What do you need for this role?

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required10+ years of related experience; related experience may consist of phosphates, fertilizer, sulfuric acid manufacturing industry, or chemical processing Experience with MS Office products, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera (or similar software) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of managementMust demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, teamwork and problem solving/decision making

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading a technical teamExperience with OIS, PI, Maximo, Minitab, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Slysel, Process Control Systems Licensed Professional Engineer
