The Philanthropy Operations Improvement Manager serves as a member of the Philanthropy Operations & Performance Team within Global Development. This team is responsible for aligning philanthropy operations support and creating and implementing solutions to improve operational efficiency for TNC’s philanthropy teams. Reporting to the Director of the Philanthropy Operations & Performance Center of Excellence (COE), this new role will be responsible for supporting the vision of the COE.

The Operations Improvement Manager will support the COE in providing philanthropy operations solutions, support, and best practices for TNC’s philanthropy teams, including but not limited to philanthropy systems, prospect management, and pipeline development. They will leverage product management, technology, Agile project management, and user-centered approaches to help pilot new initiatives and rapidly address operational inefficiencies experienced by philanthropy colleagues.

The Operations Improvement Manager will work collaboratively with their supervisor and colleagues across Global Development and TNC to identify philanthropy operations challenges, synthesize plans of action, and create and improve resources. They will track and examine data to achieve results, improve workflow, and address problems. They will oversee the development of user-friendly procedures and documentation and provide training and support related to philanthropy operations, maintaining expert knowledge of the systems and resources used by the COE.

Responsibilities & Scope

Support the Director of the COE in designing and managing new initiatives and projects, including but not limited to, piloting philanthropy operations support models and creating related tools and resources. Leverage user experience (UX) design, principles of Agile project and product management to develop scalable, flexible solutions and resources that solve customer pain points. Improve, simplify, and visualize communications resources, processes, and data in partnership with key stakeholders. Serve as a liaison to philanthropy operations staff, providing guidance, training, and support on operations best practices and implementation of resources. Use appropriate technology to develop operations resources and manage and triage customer support requests. Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information. Ensure programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, and financial standards are met and managed for compliance.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent combination. Experience leading and implementing multiple projects. Experience negotiating complex agreements. Experience with current and evolving technology in philanthropy operations. Experience working with teams across the organization. Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of philanthropy operations. Supervisory experience including setting objectives and managing performance, including conflict resolution.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $87,900 - $129,550 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
