FUNCTIONNursing is responsible for the promotion of health and prevention of illness by providing patient care and supportive services directed towards the achievement of positive patient care outcomes.

SUB-FUNCTIONNursing Education devises and maintains strategies to ensure nursing professional development. Keeps staff current about changes in protocols and procedures. Nursing Educators may work with the unit orientation committee to orient new employees.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse. 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.

Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Quality / Education Coordinator for Periop and Procedural Services oversees the promotion of safe, quality care for our patients within the perioperative department across the enterprise at OSUWMC. The position demonstrates expertise in nursing practice, nursing care delivery, administrative systems, interdisciplinary education and collaboration, and knowledge of the operating room and procedural areas. The Quality / Education Coordinator for Periop and Procedural Services exhibits knowledge of the principles and practice of safety and demonstrates expertise in process change, implementation, and sustainability, and works in collaboration with all OR and procedural team members to foster an environment of safety and quality while facilitating interdisciplinary communication and education within the department.Minimum QualificationsRequired:

BSN of an accredited program and hold a current RN licensure or other clinical roleMaster’s Degree in Education, Healthcare or related fieldACLS certificationDemonstration of leadership, communication, organizational and management skillsDemonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.Minimum of 5 years of Perioperative / procedural experience
