📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking qualified candidates for a Southwest Regional Sales Manager - EAF Division for our metals client. Ideal candidate will be in the Texas area.
Salary - $150K - $165K plus bonus potential. Company computer and cellphone provided. Travel expenses reimbursed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is a key sales management position where the qualified candidate will be responsible for growing EAF related business throughout the southeast territory. The successful candidate will have strong technical sales experience working with EAF steel producers. Qualified candidates must possess a general understanding of technical practices and processes in the making of steel in an EAF application. Candidates must have a proven track record of determining, communicating, and presenting a value proposition having provided high value technology to EAF steel producers that has resulted in calculated payback savings for the customer. Lead the sales effort and development of the Southwest region EAF steel mill customer base. Work in a team environment with other EAF sales colleagues to help drive technology and customer support. Establish Top 5 customer target list for southeast territory and establish 5 sales goals to achieve for each of the Top 5 customer targets. Establish relationships and coordinate on-site mill visits working with refractory managers, melt shop managers, caster managers, and maintenance managers. Effectively lead technical discussions with customers explaining the impact and value of MMI’s refractory technology. Define and calculate payback scenarios for customers calculating estimated annualized savings potential for the customer. Prepare formal proposals using templates provided that include value proposition in the proposal. Coordinate with service team for any on-site service work opportunities such as safety linings for ladles, tundishes, drop out chambers, and reheat furnaces. Monitor product trials and compile Trial Summary Reports for the customer.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Must have technical sales expertise related to EAF steelmaking. Refractory knowledge not necessary but preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical and/or business discipline preferred. Have a proven track record of managing customer relationships in the steel industry, having worked for an EAF steel supplier of related technology. May consider a candidate who works for an EAF steel producer. Demonstrate a history of providing technical solutions to EAF steel producers showing strong track record of relationship building resulting in strong sales growth. Other Requirements: · Have knowledge of safety compliance in visiting steel mill sites with a clean safety history.· Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
