Clinical Contracts and Finance Manager

The Clinical Contracts and Finance Manager will provide support for the Clinical Operations and Supply Chain teams with financial oversight and is accountable for ensuring accurate clinical trial budgeting/forecasting and operational support to facilitate informed decision-making regarding vendor selection.

Responsibilities:Manages contract and sourcing activities for both early and late phase clinical development programs providing consistent customer service and delivering quantitative value through cost savings and transformation/innovationEnsure the vendor selection process is compliant by managing risks through benchmarking, rate negotiations, implementing the sourcing strategy, collaborating with cross functional teams such as Compliance, Legal, Clinical Operations and RegulatoryCollaborates with internal stakeholders in vendor bidding and proposal development (RFP creation and analysis) and assists with securing internal approval of funds for high-value contractsManages the contract negotiation process across the entire life cycle including RFI, vendor identification, RFP, bid-defense, vendor selection decision, contracting negotiation, change orders, performance monitoring and ensures proper closeout of agreements to maximize contract value and achieve target savingsDevelops and implements a robust, scalable and efficient budget management process to ensure financial oversight across all trialsReviews monthly financial accruals across all planned and active studies, and supports the Finance team with internal audits related to clinical trial financial oversightReviews and approves vendor invoices to ensure appropriateness of billingSupports Clinical Operations team with individual site budget reviews and negotiationsSupports annual budget forecasting for the Clinical Development department

Qualifications:University/college degree in health care or other scientifically related discipline is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred4 plus years of experience within or working cross-functionally with Clinical Operations and Supply Chain teams.Ability to understand an analyze from multiple complex sources such as financial and operational perspectivesUnderstanding of ICH/GCP and knowledge of regulatory requirements (eg. ICH/CFR guidelines)Experience of working as part of a large team, clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to partner with various internal and external stakeholders are critical for success in this roleAbility to proactively identify and resolve/refer project-related contract and finance issues; ability to work independently on routine assignments, or under supervision on new assignments.Ability to handle a moderate volume of highly complex tasks within a given timeline. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and problem solve.Willingness to travel as necessary, consistent with project needsComputer proficiency (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Some travel (domestic and international), up to 15%
