Position Overview

The People & Culture Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting The Trustees’ HR team. This role encompasses a diverse range of functions, supporting the employees of the organization, benefits administration, training, onboarding, and talent acquisition. As a member of the People & Culture Team, the People & Culture Associate will serve as a knowledge base, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and other HR documentation related to employment.

Reporting to a Director, HR Business Partner, and supporting an assigned portfolio of properties within the organization, this role includes the ability to work on a wide range of HR projects, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a large non-profit organization.

This is a hybrid work environment, with the ability to work from the Boston Office, as primary work location. This role is expected to be in the Office or on-site at a Trustees property, twice per week and as needed.

The Human Resources Team is growing and will be expanding opportunities to fulfill the needs of all employees and properties.

What You Will Do

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding (40%)

Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks. Assist with talent acquisition activities including creating and posting requisitions, attending interview training, background screening and processing job offers. Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including required paperwork, coordination with payroll, and responding to unemployment benefits inquiries from the State, as applicable.

HR Compliance & Benefits Administration (30%)

Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and work with the team to facilitate open enrollment processes. Support the administration of Workers Compensation claims and employee leaves of absence, including PFML. Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in accordance with HR policies and procedures.

HR Projects and Initiatives (30%)

HR inbox Liaison: be the point of contact for employee questions and requests, and escalate as necessary. Participate in and contribute to various HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs, diversity and inclusion efforts, and HR process improvements. Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to manage employee data, generate reports, and streamline HR processes. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of HR software systems and tools. Partner with assigned properties and management to bring a wide range of people and culture projects to life.

Qualifications

1-3 years of relevant experience required; experience working in human resources preferred. Internships experience will be considered. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and maintain confidentiality. General understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail. Flexibility to thrive working both independently and collaboratively. Proactive approach to customer service. Experience in a remote work/hybrid environment. Prior experience in Paycom is highly preferable, although other experiences in HRIS will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range for this position is as follows

Salary range for the role is: $55,000 – $65,000.
