Infection Prevention/Performance Improvement Manager

Valley Health Specialty Hospital is the first orthopedic surgery and inpatient rehabilitation facility in the Las Vegas area. The Valley Health Specialty Hospital is the first of its kind to offer both specialty orthopedics and inpatient rehab in one location. Job Description: Responsible for over-all management of the Infection Prevention and for the Surveillance Prevention and Control of Infection Program to prevent or minimize Health Care Acquired Infections and to ensure the well-being and safety of employees, patients. Oversees employee health and performance improvement as it relates to Infection Prevention.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing or graduate of an accredited collegiateprogram in an allied science such as public health/epidemiology. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Three to five years clinical experience required. Two (2) years of Infection Control experiencepreferred.

Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

License/Certification: Nevada RN license or other healthcare professional certification. Certification in InfectionControl (CIC) or eligible to become certified within two (2) years of employment.Other Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/serviceappropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
