About The Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for a Color Designer to create color designs and assets for an Unannounced Disney Junior Project! We are looking for individuals who can make thoughtful color choices regarding the lighting, environment, tone, and atmosphere of each assigned scene.
What You Will Do
Create color designs and assets as assigned, typically including but not limited to: props, effects, characters, expressions, special poses, and size compsWork with the Art Director and/or Color Design Lead to implement their vision of the color design as it pertains to the overall look, color, and style of the seriesObtain creative approval on all color designs that are created for each episode prior to shipping to the assigned animation service providerPrepare and organize the design elements and design element files for shipment to our animation service providerWork closely with the background designs and paintings to create and maintain consistency regarding the color and design of the seriesAdhere to the production schedule provided by show Leadership to ensure cost-effective and timely productionUse studio-provided Harmony scripts as requested to ensure data and workflow consistencyConversion of Photoshop to Harmony files may be required depending on the series processAnswer questions and problem-solve color design related issues that arise with the animation service providerPerforms other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Skills
Portfolio demonstrating expert knowledge of color and color theoryAbility to align with style and color sensibility of a particular showStrong illustration or traditional art skills, with a broad knowledge of artistic styles and latest animation technologyKnowledge of software including Harmony, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D technology where applicableMust be experienced in the creation of detailed style guides and be comfortable communicating with internal and external departments dailyExcellent organizational and communication skillsAble to work independently in a fast-paced environmentPositive attitude with the ability to be flexible
Education
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

The pay rate for this role in California is $46.23 to $56.65 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
