Accounting Operations Specialist

The Accounting Operations Specialist will be responsible for providing accounting support to multiple departments within Tokio Marine Highland including, but not limited to: reconciling bank accounts, optimizing billing processes and working closely with our broader accounting department.

This role is best suited for someone with previous accounting and/or billing experience who enjoys working with internal clients and has a learning mentality.

This is a hybrid, full-time, non-exempt position located in Frisco, TX.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain current individual ledger record for each individual loss fund and coordinate with staff on payment requirements / availability of fundsReconcile all carrier monthly claim activity reports with account / loss fund ledgersMaintain records for ACH/Wire(s) along with cash calls and VOID paymentsWork with the Accounting Dept on addressing escheated payments, wires and stop pay requests, transacting claim payment wires, and validating account balancesMonitor inbound claim funds and coordinate redistribution with Accounting based on unique criteriaManaging time sensitive daily balance reporting to division management and staffPrepare and maintain correspondence with external partners regarding disbursements, funding, and payment arrangements to include invoicing for services rendered.Act as contact for external financial partner auditsReview carrier activity reports and reconciliation records against bank account balances

QualificationsAccounting degree preferred3+ years of fund accounting, reconciliation, and reporting experienceStrong reconciliation abilities with attention to detail and ability to resolve exceptions timelyExcellent follow-up with external and internal partnersThe ability to analyze and interpret workflowsPossess an accounting acumen and knowledge that allows for work with basic to intermediate accounting concepts and reportsSuperior written and verbal communicationExperience in the insurance industry preferred
