Our client operates a number of shops at its facility in Albany, Georgia. From fabricating and machining raw materials into parts, molding fiberglass components, welding subassemblies, and fuselages, assembly of components, small items, and large component paint, all the way up to the wing and aircraft assembly operations, a significant portion of the aircraft is manufactured in-house. They are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer job in Albany, GA. What Is In It For YouSalary: $85,000-100,000Position Type: Permanent - Full-timeBenefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, Vacation Pay, Sick Pay, Holiday Pay, 401(k) A Day In The Life of a Manufacturing EngineerThe position you are applying for is for you to evaluate manufacturing processes, create sequenced work instructions, lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, implement mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) practices, prioritize workflow and integrate standardization, and update tooling requirements. You will need to have good knowledge of tool design and fabrication methods, exemplify a commitment to quality, be familiar with safety and environmental standards, and utilize project management skills. Creative and progressive thinking are required to be a competent manufacturing engineer. Essential Duties of The Manufacturing EngineerManufacturing Engineering is necessary to ensure our assembly, fabrication, and production lines work efficiently and effectively to deliver a timely and defect-free product, which satisfies our customers.Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for assemblies and sub-assemblies, then organize the production build process into a logical, efficient, and standardized series of operations using a manufacturing Execution System (MES).Assist Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, and Quality by providing technical solutions.Maintain EBOM, MBOM, and ABOM aircraft configuration.Perform capability and productibility studies from engineering drawings.Evaluate manufacturing processes for ways to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and speed (rate).Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and production.Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performanceImplement LEAN process control techniques and procedures onto the manufacturing floor.Evaluated new tooling required for legacy products.Drive Continuous Improvement in costs through waste reduction.Interpreted engineering drawings of assemblies and sub-assemblies and organizes the production process into a logical and efficient series of tasks.Perform Root Cause analysis (RC) to determine failure, then recommend and implement Corrective Action (CA).Resolve issues and delays in productionTrain production personnel in new and existing MES processes.Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.Work with Facilities and EH&'S Manager to ensure all manufacturing processes and tooling adhere to the current EH& standards.
Skills and AbilitiesPrevious experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, or similar roleKnowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool designFamiliarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniquesCommitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulationsWell-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)Project management skillsProblem-solving abilityTeamwork skillsAbility to occasionally work late shifts or on a Saturday
Education And Experience5 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering capacity. Will consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate a willingness to learn and who have a strong aptitude regarding the above requirements.Knowledge of machining and automated machines is preferred.Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications.A degree in engineering or a related industry is a plus.
