Tire Test Technician

We are looking to hire a Tire Test Technician to work as part of the R&D department that is located in White, Georgia.

SUMMARY

The Tire Test Technician must exercise every aspect of safety and quality. The effective execution of company procedures is required and includes compliance with industry quality standards, EHS policies & procedures, productivity measures, cost containment, lean principles, and continuous improvement. The Tire Test Technician, as a team member, must exhibit professional conduct at all times and lead by example to foster team development and cooperation among all other team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receiving and recording tires to be testedSchedules testing orderPerforms internal/external tire inspectionMounts tires for testingPerform Dimension AnalysisPerform Footprint AnalysisPerforms Static TestPerforms Vibration TestPerforms Wear Energy TestPerforms Cornering Force TestPerforms routine maintenance on tire test building equipment as defined by the maintenance schedule (filter changes, cleaning, etc)Assist with periodic maintenance and calibration performed by test machine manufacturer.Develops and executes activities involving continuous improvementComply with all Toyo procedures and policiesComplete, log, track, and submit failure mechanism reportingMaintain good housekeeping practicesComply with all safety rules and regulationsScrap tire reporting and processingPrepare tires for shipping to Japan or 3rd party testingSupport off-site 3rd party testingOther duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, including working with multidisciplinary Engineering and Manufacturing associatesUnderstand tools and abilities necessary to complete testing assignmentsAbility to complete work assignments on time and in the order assigned by the SupervisorWork independently with insight to seek help from the Supervisor or other employees as neededAbility to work safely and follow all Toyo quality and safety standardsRequires strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skillsMust have proficient PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Must work well in team environments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of an Associate Degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school is required, or equivalent experience. Preferred two (2) years of related experience in the tire industry, preferably in testing, manufacturing, or quality.
