Your Day in the Life of an Intern
You will review expense reports. Assist with analyzing general ledger accounts and balance sheets. Review spreadsheets of financial transactions and draw conclusions on discrepancies. Assist with Account Receivable and Account Payable activities. Receive mail and process mail.
Intern Job Responsibilities
Work with our accountants on various tasks which support our month-end close, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations. Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data. Collaborate with other teams on reporting or reconciliation issues. Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
Competencies
Exceptional communication and organizational skills. Meticulous and able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of basic formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup,). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic knowledge on accounting general ledger systems.
Required Education And Experience
Entry level: 0 – 1 year of experience. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment (i.e., onsite work arrangement). Office snacks and beverages are provided. You will also experience great mentorship and knowledge sharing from seasoned professionals.
About Your Manager
This role will report directly to the Director of Finance and Accounting. Your manager brings a wealth of Finance & Accounting experience, including “Big 4”, public accounting. Our director is a Certified Public Accountant.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work/Compensation
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, working eight (8) hours per day. Hourly rate is $18-$23/hour.
