Sector Overview
Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil - gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.
Position Summary
TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice is seeking an Industrial Compliance Specialist to report to our Waltham, Massachusetts office and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our industrial compliance service offerings to support quality and strategic growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about their work, driven by intellectual curiosity, and strive to work collaboratively to best serve our clients. The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated self-starter with interest in growing our industrial compliance services throughout Massachusetts and the southern New England area.
Key Responsibilities - Tasks
Participate in and lead a variety of industrial compliance projects related to air quality, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous materials management complianceAttend business development meetings and prepare written proposals and cost estimatesComplete compliance assessments and audits of industrial facilitiesPrepare permit applications and compliance reportsCoordinate work tasks and direct and support other technical staffInteract with clients, stakeholders and contractorsManage budgets, invoicing, accounts receivable, and schedulesAssist with strategic business planning initiativesAbide by Company policies and proceduresOther duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or similar focus and 3-6 years of relevant post-degree experienceStrong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneouslyKnowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory agencies in MA and southern New EnglandSelf-motivated and detail-orientedExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedulesAbility to manage teams and coordinate the work of other team membersProficiency with standard office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous project or staff management experience is highly desirableAbility to support the team with the generation of new business development opportunities, preparing winning proposals, and client relationship management is highly desirable.
