Responsibilities
TRC is seeking a Part-time candidate for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform quality assurance inspections in Brenham, TX and Austin, TX.
Note: Full time employment may be available for applicants willing to travel and work on assignment with reimbursed expenses.
Job Duties
Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5/AASHTO/AWS D1.1.Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting.Utilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications.Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance to material quality.Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner.Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable coded requirements.Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printer.Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.Ability to develop and maintain client relations.Previous bridge fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.Familiarity with steel bridge erection.
Qualifications
American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication Strong verbal and written communication skills.Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified.Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing.
