Summary

As the HR Manager in Alaska, you will oversee and manage all aspects of human resources for multiple remote Alaska shore plants. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and forward-thinking HR professional who has proven success with all core functions of HR as well as possess a positive and “hands-on” attitude.

This is a full time, hybrid position that requires being onsite in our various shore plant locations in Alaska during the various fishing seasons.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, coach and develop the HR Generalists and HR Representatives in various remote shore plant locations in Alaska.Oversees day-to-day administrative tasks completed by staff, such as plant payroll processing, new hire paperwork, transfers, performance reviews, absenteeism, terminations, attendance, turnover metrics and discipline logs.Assumes the leadership role in resolving employee relations issues, coaching management through the process; provides support and guidance to HR generalists and management when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise.Manage and resolve employee concerns, conflicts and disciplinary issues.Conduct investigations regarding employee conduct and recommend solutions.Coordinates with Support Center management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.Works collaboratively with Environment, Health and Safety to promote and support company initiatives and programs designed to educate and engage employees in safety practices and behaviors.Support plant operations through workforce planning and recruitment.60% travel will be required throughout the shore plants you support.Perform all other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years’ experience as a manager of people within an HR function or a related role in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have strong employee relations experience.Must have a broad knowledge of the principles, laws and regulations related to the management of human resources (city, state & federal employment laws)No travel restrictionAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plusProficient in Spanish is a plusProficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work is subject to frequent unscheduled interruptions. The employee might be occasionally required to adjust work schedules to accommodate evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines or for training employees. Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is required to work on a computer for long hours at a stretch. They might require wearing protective equipment while on the production floor.
