The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and results-driven Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering team. As the Data Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, building, and managing our data infrastructure and analytics platform. This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, offering the opportunity to work with a talented and diverse team.

Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and implementation of our data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL processes, to support business intelligence and reporting needs.Rebuild legacy data warehouses and modernize our data platform, leveraging modern technologies and best practices to improve scalability, reliability, and performance.Build a data, BI, and reporting stack from scratch, including ETL processes from multiple systems, transformation into data marts, and creation of reusable reports and dashboards.Manage a team of data engineers, both onshore and offshore, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to drive team performance and development.Collaborate closely with executives and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, prioritize initiatives, and align data strategy with business objectives.Work closely with business users to gather requirements, define data dictionaries, and ensure data quality and integrity in reporting solutions.Incorporate AI/ML capabilities into the data pipeline, leveraging machine learning algorithms and techniques to enhance data analysis and insights generation.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a track record of success in building and managing data infrastructure and analytics platforms.Strong experience with modern data technologies and platforms. Experience building in an Azure-based platform, so previous experience with Azure Synapse and Data Factory is a requirement. Proven experience managing teams of data engineers, both onshore and offshore, with a focus on driving collaboration, innovation, and results.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with executives, business users, and technical teams.Experience working in the finance/insurance industry or InsurTech space is a plus.Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and techniques, with the ability to integrate machine learning capabilities into the data pipeline.
