The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a team-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant at our clinic located on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus.

Position Summary & Highlights

This MA position you will support a new Nurse Practitioner to the clinic!The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute is proud to be the leading cancer program in Idaho and Eastern Oregon. What You Will Do

You will coordinate and partner with the clinical care team to help support all aspects of patient care while patient is undergoing treatment for Hematology and Oncology needs. This may include complete chart prep, assist patients with moving within the clinic, rooming and takin vitals, and set up for procedures.You will also schedule new patients, schedule patients for related appointments, and follow up visits and complete related paperwork.You will also coordinate with pre-auth and dosimetry staff to schedule procedures, and provide comfort to patients who come for treatment. You may also occasionally assist the provider with bone marrow biopsies and perform phlebotomy.

Work Schedule

4 - 10 hour days, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (usually Wednesdays off), around the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm.Clinic start and end time can vary based on physician's schedule.This position will NOT work weekends or major holidays.

Locations

This position will be based at the Boise clinic, but may work at the Nampa or Caldwell clinics to assist with staffing coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)American Medical Technologists (RMA)National Healthcare Association (CCMA)National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.For new MA graduates, minimum of 100 hour externship or MA work experience is required.
