Senior Accountant

Job Description: TriSource Staffing is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, a reputable construction company based in Linthicum, MD. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and management for the company's construction projects.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Project Accounting: Manage project budgets, costs, and revenue recognition for multiple construction projects simultaneously. Track project expenses, revenues, and variances to ensure profitability and cost control.Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and provide insights to project managers and senior management to support decision-making processes. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve project profitability.General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.Audit Support: Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation, answering inquiries, and resolving audit findings. Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal controls.Financial Planning and Forecasting: Support the financial planning and forecasting process by providing input on project budgets, revenue projections, and cash flow forecasts. Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate financial forecasts.Tax Compliance: Assist with tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns and ensuring timely filing and payment of taxes. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the construction industry.Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management. Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives aimed at driving business growth and profitability.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA designation preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with construction accounting principles.Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
