📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
SUMMARY:Tucker-Rose Associates is seeking a Jr. Test Engineer to help support a Program with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. We are partnered with Booz Allen on this position. This position will be remote, and pay up to 50K in salary.
RESPONSIBILITIES: When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development – and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a software test engineer who can learn how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.
Assist developers with evaluating software developed for Veterans' Affairs.Build a test plans with test cases based on user stories.Using manual processes, you’ll help generate data and execute the test cases to see how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.Team members may have the opportunity to gain skills in automation and development while establishing your software testing experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years of total work experience and 2+ years as a TesterBachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required, or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for educationExperience with test methodologies, QA process, and the software release cycleKnowledge of Operating Systems and networkingKnowledge of release procedures and software defect trackingKnowledge of object-oriented programming conceptsAbility to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test casesExperience with JIRAExperience with SeleniumExperience in an Agile working environment
