📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Tuff Shed is recruiting for an experienced Permit Technician to work with outside agencies, responsible for acquiring building permits and providing excellent and efficient services to our customers.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL TUFF SHED PERMIT TECHNICIAN?
Develop and maintain positive relationships with building departments and officials within those departments as the liaison between Tuff Shed and building departmentKnow and understand local building codes as they pertain to our productRepresent Tuff Shed, as needed, in hearings with planning departments with variance applicationsReview, submit, and retrieve permit related documentation for sales consultants to/from planning and building departmentsEnsure placement of building follows set back regulationsTrack permit progress through planning and building departmentObtain permit and documentation, distribute and review with sales and managementAssist management in meeting building officials on siteUnderstand and meet the needs of the customer; recognizing special needs and recommending appropriate upsells
Skills & Experience
Previous experience with permitting preferredProven experience working in a construction or building department environmentAbility to effectively speak to and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employeesMust be able to travel in state at least 70% of the timeMust possess a current valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
