You'll join our small team in-person in Brooklyn and have ownership in a fast-growing AI startup backed by top VCs.

Content is the key to driving AI adoption

As Type's Writer and Content Lead, you will play a crucial role in educating users about how Type can transform their writing process.

You'll create content that demonstrates the capabilities of Type's AI-driven features, such as:Type Chat for ideation and brainstormingIn-doc features like "Generate Draft" for writing high-substance first draftsThe command palette for summoning powerful writing commands at the cursor

You'll take lead on our core content efforts:Publishing thoughtful blog and landing page contentWriting educational onboarding emailsCrafting and distributing major announcementsProducing video tutorials

We're building an AI-powered document editor for writers like you, so you need to be able to get super passionate about our product, artificial intelligence, and writing. You'll be helping to educate the world about all three.

You'll also be responsible for distributing this content effectively to maximize its reach and engagement with our target audience. When we have an announcement to make, for example, you should think hard about how we can maximize its reach.

As our first content hire, you'll have the opportunity to shape our content strategy from the ground up and make a significant impact on the future of writing.

ResponsibilitiesA sample of things you might work on:Writing thoughtful blog posts, tutorials, and product updates. For example, you might write a post comparing the relative writing strengths and weaknesses between the latest Gemini model and Claude 3.Creating and managing email campaigns, mostly onboarding sequences that educate new usersScripting, producing, and editing videos that showcase Type's featuresAnalyzing content performance and using data to help inform where to invest our time next

What we're looking for in you6+ years of experience in content marketing, writing, or a related fieldStrong writing and editing skills, with a knack for explaining complex topics clearlyProven ability to create content that drives traffic, engagement, and conversionsA bend towards writing things that are pragmatic and helpfulExperience with SEO, email marketing, and video production best practices (you don't need to be a pro at video production, but you should feel comfortable with it)Experience using publishing and website building tools like Webflow – ideally, you're somewhat technical and can build pages in Webflow yourselfA deep passion for writing and a curiosity about AI's potential to transform the process
