Refrigeration Maintenance - Floating Shift - Tecumseh, NE

Job Details

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for running the ammonia refrigeration and chlorine systems with minimal supervision. Motive Power Technicians perform maintenance and repairs on the machines and equipment related to boilers and refrigeration and constantly monitor the status of the ammonia system in accordance with Process Safety Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

Installation and set-up of equipment as neededMonitor and make necessary adjustments to refrigeration system and related equipmentPerform preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment completing required documentationProvide pass-down to following shift TechnicianAssists experienced Technicians in troubleshooting of equipment and system, assisting with necessary repairsCompletes shift log book and other required paperworkAssist within department as neededOther duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding of Ammonia Refrigeration systemsProficient computer skillsAbility to use hand tools and trades type toolsStrong mechanical background requiredAble to identify industry standard partsElectrical experience requiredAble to operate safely and effectively working with and around moving machineryAbility to work around blood at times, indoors, exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidityWillingness to work overtime as required

Education and/or Experience

Must have a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience. Ammonia Refrigeration (Preferred) and/or general maintenance documented in the work history section of the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. Formal training program completion or certification can be used in place of experience requirementTraining in electrical principals and troubleshooting

Communication Skills

Must be able to communicate well.

Rehiring Criteria: Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior. Applicants must also have completed at least 90 days since their last employment with Tyson.
