📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Summary

This vacancy is for multiple Aquatic facilities located on Hunter Army Airfield, GA. Position will work outdoor pools in summer, working between 8:00 a.m. thru 6:00 p.m. and on weekends/holidays. May be required to work in all aquatics facilities to include indoor 6 am thru 8 pm and outdoor swimming pools.

U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Mandatory certifications must be complete within 30 calendar days of employment. Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the incumbent will be noncompetitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, responsible for lifeguarding guest in attendance at an assigned aquatic facility. Training: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS)American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid. This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided.

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children. Failure to complete the required certification will result in removal from employment. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation (Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries-CNACI). Must have current health assessment that documents good physical health, and free from communicable disease IAW current Army Policy. Be able to obtain within 30 days and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED from a nationally recognized agency. Lifeguard trainees must have good vision (corrected vision if necessary) while on duty to effectively recognize all emergencies, incidents and rule breaking. Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period. Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements. Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty. Fifteen (15) year old lifeguard trainees must comply with the restriction of the DOL Child Labors Law (Jan 17, 2006).

Must be able to swim and participate in the lifeguard certifications.

Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
