Duties

Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community. Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community, including a variety multi-disciplinary event,i.e.: social activities; tournaments and other major programs such as ethnic, patriotic and holiday observances which involve a variety of activities. Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Organizes, plans, and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests. Performs other duties as assigned.

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Must be available to work all hours of operations including nights, weekends, holidays and special events inside and outside of the facility.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of Recreation Programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in Outdoor Recreation and Parks; Recreation Management; Youth, Public, Urban or Community Recreation; OR Special population recreation is qualifying experience. Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria above to be considered for this job position.

Completion of bachelor's degree with major study in Outdoor Recreation and Parks; Recreation Management; Youth, Public, Urban or Community Recreation.

PCS Costs

Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differential

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
