📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
A Medical Laboratory Scientist III processes and tests specimens and enters final results into patient medical records. Activities include including flow cytometric crossmatching, Luminex based HLA antibody identification, HLA typing via rSSO, next generation sequencing, and Nanopore sequencing methods. Work with transplant coordinators about patient and donor HLA results and / or problems. Oversee bench staffing needs and adjust staff responsibilities and scheduling as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology3 years HLA laboratory experienceCHT (ABHI) certificationExperience in performing complex serologic and molecular testingExperience in electronic medical records and testing databases including knowledge of EPIC and HistoTracAbility to interpret laboratory test results and determine if further testing is indicatedAbility to perform advanced complex troubleshooting
