Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will have the responsibility for the care of patients in the practice. The NP will provide follow-up care as well as assessment of new patients at all UCSF Health locations and satellite clinics. This includes ongoing clinical assessment, ordering and follow up of all testing, modification of treatment regimes and over all care of the patient in both the clinic, by phone and via APeX follow up. NP is recognized as a leader and clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the practice and organization. The NP serves as resource for all clinical staff and initiates and participates in patient and staff education.

Required Qualifications

New graduate NP is acceptable as will provide a FPPE plan for specialty orientation.Completion of a NP Master's degree program. Prior RN experience with motility procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum one (1) year NP experience in ambulatory settingPrior ambulatory GI/motility experience

License/Certification

California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position. Hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Accepted Certifications for this position: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) Or (AANPCB) Link to UCSF NP Certification Table for reference: https://ucsf.box.com/s/a2wll0d3oqe3j9shkb1nvewnqkbzjlun Hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.Completed a BRN recognized graduate master’s degree program as a nurse practitioner.Hold an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.Hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement.State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
