POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Claims Manager is responsible for leading our Freight Claims analysts and overseeing the processing and payment of all freight and parcel claims. This includes all inbound, outbound and parcel shipments that incur loss or damage into our DC’s, pools, stores and to our guests. The Transportation Claims Manager’s focus in this role will be ensuring smooth and timely claims processing, managing claims recovery and cross-functional dependencies. This individual works closely with carriers, suppliers, DCs, and internal cross-functional partners to troubleshoot pain points and develop innovative solutions to meet business needs.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive the development and execution of a best-in-class Freight and Parcel claims adjudication process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standardsDrive a culture of continuous improvement within the claims team, identifying and implementing automation and process enhancements to optimize operations and resource allocationManage cross-functional dependencies for filing claims and act as Point of Contact for all Transportation claimsFollow up with carriers on denials or outstanding claimsFoster partnerships with carriers to improve claims processing efficiency and reduce turnaround timesIdentify and manage KPIs that will optimize value capture for claimsDocument all aspects of Claims Management, including processes and SOPsUtilize claims data to identify gaps or improvement opportunities with our carriersPartner with Continuous Improvement team to support shrink initiatives.

Develop and utilize data to build meaningful and effective team strategiesPartner with cross-functional teams to address potential areas of improvementProvide root-cause analysis of claims, weekly trends, and other claims data Other Duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION

10 years Transportation experience highly preferredMinimum of 5 years of Transportation claims experience Positive and friendly attitude with a demonstrated ability to gain cooperation from across various departments and team membersDriven, energetic, and positive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementExcellent attention to detailStrong communication skills Effective presentation and communication skillsOccasional travel may be required
