UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join us in Hayward, CA! The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for assisting with supporting the production build of various systems on the manufacturing floor. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Manufacturing techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable build and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, and Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing documentation such as S.O.E.s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.Requires contact with Customers and vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices to streamline build processes and procedures.Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.Supports project production efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Investigates customer or internal issues determine the nature and extent of the problem and recommend corrective actions.Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.Evaluate and processes Engineering Change Orders.Performs other duties as required.Attendance is an essential duty of this position. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
