Treasurer

Our Finance team is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Treasurer to join our team. This position reports to the VP of Finance and will office in Houston, TX. As a Treasurer, you will be responsible for developing the trade finance function and treasury management within our company. You will also ensure that all financing duties are carried out in a timely, compliant, and efficient manner. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all trade finance matters and will work closely with the traders, operations, risk, and legal teams to ensure that all trade finance transactions are executed accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow, mitigate payments, currency & performance exposure, and maintain compliance with assistance from our financial partners.Draft and improve internal related policies and workflow.Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure the smooth execution of trade finance transactions and treasury management.Manage and supervise the trade finance team and treasury team to ensure all financing duties are performed accurately and efficiently.Maintain a solid understanding of international trade, working with counterparties and global commodity & currency market dynamics.Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to trade finance and maintain relationships with financial partners to ensure the company has access to the best financing options available.Liaise with external banks, intra-group banks, and local and overseas counterparts when necessary to ensure timely receipt and issuance of financial security, receipt of payments, and delivery of barges/cargoes.Manage cash needs by using factoring or other types of debt financing.Review contract provisions to make sure contractual provisions align with trade finance instrument wording requirements.Monitor trade finance and treasury management related modules in the ERP system.Trade finance and treasury risk control system testing and internal audit.

RequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.10+ years of experience in trade finance, with a focus on energy commodity trading and/or banking. Strong understanding of global commodity & currency market dynamics.CDCS Certification is highly desired.Must have good technical and practical knowledge of UCP 600, ISP 98, and URR 525.Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English is preferred Ability to manage and mentor a team.Experience working with a global team in multiple time zones.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
