Here's a summary of responsibilities:The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee seeks a Database Administrator (DBA) to play a crucial role in evaluating, optimizing, and maintaining the organization's database systems. The DBA will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficiency, security, and reliability of the databases supporting various mission-critical applications and initiatives. In addition, the DBA will need to manage time wisely, adapt to changing priorities and communicate accordingly, assist in escalations, and act as a bridge between vendors, project teams, USOPC teams, and management. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of a non-profit organization promoting Olympic sports and values across the United States. Here's how you'll have an impact:Database EvaluationConduct thorough assessments of existing database systems to identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and align database strategy to business needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related projects.Report database performance issues.Database Security and ComplianceImplement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Implement database security measures and monitor data integrity.Backup and RecoveryDesign and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability during system failures or data corruption.Contribute to regular backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery tests.Collaboration and DocumentationCollaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other teams to provide database-related support and expertise.Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.Stay apprised of the latest trends and developments in data administration and operations.Capacity PlanningMonitor database resource utilization and growth patterns to proactively anticipate and address future capacity needs.Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3-5 years experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a mid-level role, managing and optimizing complex database environmentsExperience with SnowflakeExperience with various business process and system modeling tools, including Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER Diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, Context Models, Event Modeling, StateExpertise in backup/recovery/fail-over methods and best practicesExperience with performance monitoring and tuning toolsKnowledge of Windows Server administration conceptsProficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL ServerFamiliarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.Strong SQL querying and troubleshooting skillsAbility to provide input to optimize current databases and queriesHigh level of analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to conduct research into database issues and resolve as requiredStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adaptEffective communication skills, both written and verbalDetail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality databasesAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong understanding of the organization's goals and objectivesHighly self-motivated and self-directedStrong organizational skills and excellent attention to detailAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, multi-national environmentAbility to contribute to the mission of promoting Olympic sports and values across the United StatesHere are some things that will make you super competitive for this role:Certification Preferred: Microsoft Certified Database Administrator Windows Server Administration Fundamentals Certification is a plus.Here are the tools, equipment, & conditions:Standard office equipment, including telephones, personal computers, and other equipment related to database administrationOffice equipment in a multi-level building on a multi-building siteSome bending and liftingOccasional domestic and international travelHere's where you'll work:This is a hybrid role that will regularly work from both our Colorado Springs Headquarters and remotely.Here's some more information you need to know:Hiring Pay Range: $79,987 to $101,584 per year.This full-time, exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program at a 10% target.
