Position Description

Coordinate the day-to-day operations of campus recruiting and employer relations for the University Career Center. Serve as primary contact for employers interested in recruiting through the Center, explaining services, and making appropriate referrals to other campus offices. Communicate with employers about the vetting and approval process and answer recruiting system usage questions. Produce accurate and timely reports on recruiting metrics. Coordinate the planning and implementation of career events such as career fairs. Serves on the Employer Engagement Team and as primary back up for front office coverage. This is an in-person position from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 7.5 hours a day for a total of 37.5 hours a week.

     

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

EMPLOYER SERVICES – 40%

Serve as point of contact for new employers interested in recruiting through the University Career Center. Explain services and interpret recruiting policies to employers. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed in the vetting of employers, contacts, and job postings; ensure all requests are resolved in a timely manner. Make appropriate employer referrals to other academic departments and campus career centers. Train other staff and student workers, as necessary, on employer and job vetting procedures. Review work to ensure accuracy.

CAREER FAIR ADMINISTRATION – 40%

Maintain detailed implementation and planning timelines for career fairs. Plan, communicate, and execute all facets of career fairs, including, but not limited to creating event in recruiting system, scheduling facilities, and producing logistics and work assignments. Track all career fair registration fees received by check and follow procedures for depositing with the University. Request credit card payout from vendor after each fair. Maintain relationships with multiple campus offices for scheduling career fairs and other events (SAC, Red Barn, Humanities Quad, Bigelow Hall, Parking Services, Aramark Food Services, etc.).

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING ASSISTANCE – 5%

Coordinate specialized recruiting initiatives with employers in the Partners Program as outlined by the Program guidelines and in collaboration with the Associate Director for Employer Engagement. Maintain interview suite and ensure facilities are open and ready for employers on interview days. Create events in recruiting system.

REPORT GENERATION – 5%

Generate monthly reports during fall and spring terms on recruiting metrics. Follow procedures to ensure accuracy and quality of all data entered into recruiting system (job postings, employer database, student database, etc.). Produce summary reports for all career fairs including employer and student survey results. Produce comprehensive semester reports for use in compiling annual report. Generate usage reports from recruiting system.

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATION – 5%

Oversee recruiting system (i.e., Symplicity) and serve as point of contact for implementation and maintenance of system. Attend national, regional, and online training, as necessary, to keep abreast of updates and to ensure efficient and effective use of recruiting resources. Maintain relationships with vendors prioritizing upgrades and enhancements needed for recruiting resources; serve as primary contact with customer support for resolution of technical issues. Collaborate with ITS on technical integration of recruiting resources into operations.

MISCELLANEOUS – 5%

Serve as primary backup for front office coverage when Program Assistant, Sr. or student workers are not available. Recommend recruiting policy updates for associate director’s approval. Keep abreast of current recruiting trends. Keep current on new developments with recruiting system by completing online training and webinars on new features and versions. Provide oral and written instructions to employers, students, alumni, staff, and faculty on use of online resources. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.

  

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience in career services coordinating recruiting functions with proficiency in recruiting systems and career center technologies preferred.

Wage minimum $18.56/hr
