Minimum Requirements

Associate's degree in a related field and one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 2.

Position Description

This position requires an individual who will be able to carry out laboratory experiments for a project that aims to dissect the role of metabolic rewiring in the intrinsic and acquired resistance to chemo- and targeted therapies in lung cancer. Position is be expected to conduct high level research in the area of molecular cancer biology, which includes combining cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and animal models of human cancer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform experimental research in the field of molecular cancer biology. This will include, but is not limited to, cell culture, protein biochemistry, molecular biology techniques, and metabolomics techniques. Perform design experiments and collect data with the consultation of PI. This position requires ordering, stocking, and reagent preparation. The person will be expected to maintain detailed and organized records. Perform animal experiments under the supervision of PI. Mouse experiments include drug administration via oral gavage and intraperitoneal injections, as well as tumor implantation.

Preferred Qualifications

The person should have some technical ability, proficient, and accurate in scientific experimentation and who exhibits initiative and is able to work independently when trained. The person will need to be able to work in a group environment and be of assistance to a number of research projects. The person should (after appropriate training, etc.) be able to work fairly independently with guidance from the PI or other senior members of the lab.
