Role DescriptionThe Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Instructor at the University of Providence is tasked with offering academic instruction and clinical support for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's degree program. The incumbent will have significant responsibilities, including teaching graduate courses in Counseling, ensuring program effectiveness through outcomes assessment, advising, and mentoring students, continually developing the program and courses, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. Additionally, the role entails student recruitment and representation of the health division on university-wide committees and teams.
ResponsibilitiesTeach a combined total of 9 credits per semester (fall and spring) in the Master of Science in Counseling program.Recruit and advise graduate counseling students; supervise master’s level interns in practicum and internship.On-line teaching is required.Conduct program assessment and development.Provide service to the program, University, profession, and community.Develop and maintain relations with area counseling agencies, associations, and licensure boards.Summer teaching opportunities are available.
QualificationsDoctorate in Counselor Education Supervision from a CACREP accredited program requiredThe successful candidate for the graduate Counseling faculty position:Must have demonstrated success in teaching graduate-level courses.Must have a commitment to cultural diversity and social justice.Must be licensed as a Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor or Montana licensure eligible.
