RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The University of the Ozarks invites applications for a current opening as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning August 2024. Preference will be given to those candidates that have earned a Ph.D. degree in Psychology by the time of employment, although ABD will be considered. The area of specialization is open, although applicants with expertise in I/O or Social Psychology are preferred. The desired applicant should have college teaching experience and demonstrate successful student-centered teaching outcomes. In addition, applicants should desire to working as a team to promote our growing and popular psychology program. The primary responsibilities of this position include the teaching of psychology courses in a range of content areas, including I/O, social psychology, related subfields and introductory courses. Additional opportunities to enhance the Psychology program’s curriculum with additional courses and research that incorporates student involvement are available.
The University values personal attention and collegiality, and a familiarity with and understanding of a small residential campus are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in working with a culturally diverse student body. Excellent communication skills and strong support of the University's mission are also required.
