📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Duration: 6 months contract (with possible extension)
Job Description:The C&IS Security, Policy and Standards Project Lead plays a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets. This role will be accountable for contributing to and delivering upon the strategic agenda for cyber and information security at company by leading and managing enterprise-wide security projects and ensuring they align with industry standards, minimize security risks, and enhance our overall security posture. This position focuses on technical cybersecurity projects related to the design, development, execution, implementation, or maintenance of cybersecurity tools, processes, systems, or software. The Security, Policy and Standards Lead will leverage deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in strategy, governance, and cybersecurity to drive impactful improvements to our cyber capabilities.
Project Leadership:· Lead program execution to deliver business value and outcomes.· Oversee interdependencies and integration of interrelated workstreams.· Provide technical supervision to achieve project goals.· Manage the end-to-end life cycle of security projects.· Set up the program of work and delegate targets to the project team.· Work with program managers to identify and manage project dependencies.· Ensure project success and timely completion.
Process Engineering:· Drive continuous improvement of C&IS programs through engagement with business stakeholders and development of a thorough understanding of company business practices to increase security and minimize business risks.· Lead design thinking and analytics to inform cybersecurity program design.· Define and deploy security and risk management processes aligned with company objectives.· Generate and maintain security policies and procedures, including assessing gaps and opportunities in requirements and programs.
Stakeholder Communication:· Promote culture that enables adherence to corporate security and privacy policies, in addition to compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.· Communicate effectively with cross-functional business stakeholders.· Partnership and collaboration with business stakeholders to provide guidance and direction on relevant security topics.· Report project status, issues, and risks to executive management.
Requirements Elicitation and Definition:· Undertake requirements elicitation to determine project scope.· Coordinate with the larger program team to ensure project compatibility and deliverable schedules.
Risk Assessment:· Assess risk factors of security projects.· Implement risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171).· Evaluate cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Qualifications:· Education: Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business, or related field.· Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CSSBB, HCD, CSM, CISM, are desirable.
Desired Skills:· At least 10 years of experience in product management or process engineering· At least 10 years of experience in information technology or cybersecurity· At least 7 years of experience in program management – driving IT programs across an enterprise organization.
Experience:· Prior experience in security program / project management (ideally in data security, data governance or data protection)· Experience in development and oversight of information security policies, standards, and procedures.· Experience in development and implementation of comprehensive technical roadmaps in alignment with strategic, business goals, and objectives.· Experience in engaging with external vendors on risk assessments and security technology implementation.· Experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices and/or Payor industries desired.· Strong understanding of security best practices and security standards such as NIST CSF control requirements.
