SOX Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:The SOX Manager will be responsible for managing the organization's auditing strategy and activities for regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in the evaluation and design of internal controls with business teams.Identify opportunities to streamline and rationalize controls.Work closely and coordinate with Internal/External Auditors in the overall testing of controls.Be the liaison between the external audit and business owners during the SOX design and testing.Perform walkthroughs in coordination with internal and external auditors to obtain an understanding of the business process. Prepare business process documentation, including flow charts, narratives and risk control matrices. In the event of a control deficiency identified, work closely with the business process owner to assist in the documentation of the control deficiency analysis and assist in its remediation efforts.Support acquisition integration to ensure internal controls are implemented across new operations. Monitor changes in regulations and standards related to SOX compliance, and update policies and procedures accordingly.Interpret and communicate compliance requirements to IT and business teams.Coordinate the assessments of IT general controls to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.Coordinate joint venture audits among business teams.

EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting+5 years of program management experience focused on SOX and SOC compliance programsExperience with evaluating control design, operating effectiveness, and strong understanding of how to support testing results.
