Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The position of Manager Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative / Valley Agronomics. A person in this position reports to and works closely with the CFO as well as having a dotted line to the leader of Valley Agronomics. The Manager FP&A ensures the integrity of the business unit financial reporting, planning and analysis.

This position is also responsible for partnering with management of Valley Agronomics, leading the team through the budgeting process, DCF analysis, and KPI reporting. In addition to managing FP&A, this position will also be an integral part of the team that closes the books and interacting with the external auditors.

ResponsibilitiesThese are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently:

Prepare, analyze, and report monthly KPI reports.Partner with business unit management by providing financial expertise in the areas of strategy, working capital analysis, DCF calculations, postmortem project reviews, mergers and acquisition analysis/integration, and financial reporting.Review month-end financial reports for accuracy and opportunities for improvement.Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary.Prepare financial slide deck for board presentations.Prepare detailed account analysis.Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies regarding cost analyses and profitability.Drive process improvement and efficiency efforts.Work on special projects as required.Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Ag Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field required, CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.Previous experience in financial planning and analysis preferred.Previous experience in agronomy business (practices, seasonality, crop shifts, etc.)Previous experience in improving on or creating key performance indicators.Previous success in working in team environments.5+ years’ experience in similar position highly preferred.Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.Ability to turn financial and operational information into actionable direction and suggestions for improvement. Excellent written, verbal communication and collaborative skills.Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Office products.Strong organizational and communicational skills.Detail oriented.Ability to work in fast-paced environment with significant growth in process.Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Ability to travel 5-10% for special projects and to support inventory and fixed asset audits.
