The Policy Management team at Valmark is in search of a dynamic and team-oriented intern to assist analysts with their day-to-day workflows. This entails tasks such as gathering essential documents and data, as well as addressing service requests from Valmark's clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with the team, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of tasks within the Policy Management department.
Job Summary
The Insurance Services internship at Valmark's St. Paul, MN office involves providing vital support to the Policy Management team across key areas, including data management, communication with product companies, and operations management. In this role, interns will work closely with the Policy Management team and collaborate with internal partners from Insurance Marketing, Insurance New Business, and Technology teams. Responsibilities include handling data related to insurance policies, facilitating communication with product companies, and assisting in day-to-day operations. This internship offers a dynamic environment for networking, comprehensive training in insurance, technology, marketing, underwriting, and investments, and valuable hands-on experience in a growing business unit within the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Data Management
Gather necessary information from various sources including product companies, Valmark’s clients, internal sources, and technology data feedsSet-up the insurance policy in the policy management system, input specific data points, archive documents, and manage policy informationEnsure the completeness and accuracy of new and existing data in the systems Communication with Insurance Companies:Obtain supporting information to aide in the review and analysis of active life insurance policiesRequest current and updated policy information from insurance companies, including policy status, quotes, forms, and transaction historyFacilitate the completion of service requests from Valmark’s clients Operations Management:Streamline business operations, tasks, activities, workflows, and processesLeverage various technology tools to manage data and policy informationIdentify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and policy management services

Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in college seeking a degree. Open to various majors, such as Business Administration, Finance, Insurance & Risk Management, Communications, Mathematics, and Marketing. Must be available to commit 15-25 hours per week during the spring/fall semesters and 25-40 hours per week during the summer months.
