About the Children's Pastor:As the Children’s Pastor, you will play a vital role in leading, organizing, and encouraging our team to provide a thriving space for preschoolers (birth - 4 years) and children (kindergarten - 6th grade) to explore their faith and develop strong Christ-centered values. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the Preschool and Children’s Ministries across both of our campuses, fostering a welcoming environment and inspiring young minds to grow closer to Christ.In addition, you will oversee First Kids Academy (birth - Pre-K), a ministry of The Woodlands First that exists to provide parents with an assurance that their child will be loved, cared for, and educated in a safe, Christ-like environment. We work to develop our students' social-emotional skills, gross motor skills, and academic needs. With play-based learning, our kids grow in multiple areas while having fun! At First Kids Academy, we operate with our four core values in mind: to be Christ-centered, to offer quality care and trust, to inspire life-long learning, and to build solid relationships.The Children’s Pastor is surrounded by a team of loving leaders, staff, and volunteers. You will collaborate with a supportive leadership team that includes the Groups and Senior Pastor, oversee caring staff from the Preschool and Children’s Ministries and First Kids Academy, and coordinate with volunteers who are passionate about serving children, their families, and our church community.

The Children's Pastor Responsibilities Include: Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for preschool and elementary children and their families for Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, VBS, summer camp, and other eventsRecruit, train, and lead Preschool and Children’s Ministry staff, nursery staff, interns, and volunteersWork with Preschool and Children’s Ministry teams to research trends and select curriculum for preschool and children’s ministriesRegularly lead, participate in, and/or teach on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights and at kids’ worship, VBS, summer camp, and other activities and events throughout the yearCollaborate with Preschool and Children’s Ministry leadership, staff, and committees to plan and oversee the annual preschool, children’s, and nursery budgets and ongoing spendingPromote a safe, clean, and inviting environment, ensuring all protocols are updated and followed concerning background checks, training requirements, etc.Ensure there is a sufficient amount of teachers, staff, and/or volunteers for each Sunday morning classroom, nursery, event, and activity throughout the yearWork with First Kids Academy leadership to oversee the management, budget, and annual calendar of First Kids Academy, ensuring synergy with other ministry activities and building usageFoster family engagement through ministry initiatives, spiritual milestones, and support during times of needWork with Preschool and Children’s Ministry teams to acquire and replace furniture and classroom supplies, as neededCollaborate with church leadership and staff on outreach, growth strategies, and pastoral care, focused on engaging families and childrenReport to the Senior and Groups Pastors, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to the annual Ministry Action Plan
