Assistant Hospital Manager

VCA Animal Medical Center is expanding their leadership team and searching for an Assistant Hospital Manager!

Schedule: Full-time opportunities available.

Compensation: $22 hour.

DUTIES: This position serves as the primary support to the Hospital Manager.

The Assistant Hospital Manger will assist in hospitals new hire process; interviews, new hire orientation, ordering scrubs/name tags and assign/track appropriate training. Coordinate annual employee performance reviews. Identify and resolves problems in a timely manner. Attend Team meetings as requested. Gather/analyze information skillfully for the operation of the hospitals with the Hospital

Manager and Hospital Medical Director.

Serves as a resource for all employee questions. Handle routine and non-routine logistics for meetings (contact meeting participants and

coordinate responses, compose meeting materials as directed. Follow-up on meeting action

items, prepare meeting minutes, follow-up on presentations in a timely manner to assure that

all information is received.

Identifies and provides recommendations for potential problems, non-routine situations,

hospital/company policies, work flow processes, and client service needs.

Adapts and supports change in the work environment and manages competing

demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

Facilitate Medical Clerk Licensing for CSRs and Assistants Submit Hospital Food Logs Organize and send hospital dailies Participate, assist and help in the departments throughout the hospitals as needed for

organizational needs and filling CSR shifts as scheduled.

Help Hospital Manager with staff scheduling as needed. Responsible for staff call-outs and schedule changes when HM not available. Organize, conduct and execute quarterly inventory – submit to support office. Work with HM to improve social media presence. Celebrate employee birthdays, anniversaries and other events (tech week) as appropriate. Assist and prepare for AAHA inspections. Responsible for all hospital equipment maintenance/repair/troubleshooting. Be aware of landscaping, irrigation, exterior lighting and hospital cleaning schedules. Work with alarm company to keep contact lists accurate and insure cameras are working

properly.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 3–5 years experience in the pet care industry. Excellent interpersonal skills; verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening,

problem solving, social awareness, self-management, responsibility and

accountability, assertiveness. Demonstrate empathy or the ability to show

respect for co-workers and relate to their thoughts, emotions and experiences.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage conflicts. Ability to independently solve problems and make recommendations. Excellent follow-up skills. Customer-service oriented. Willingness to occasionally work non-traditional hours (could include evenings, weekends and Holidays).
