📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
VENTEON Finance is hiring an Accounting Specialist to provide support for a company in Farmington, MI. You will assist the accounting department in revenue recognition, invoicing, cash receipts, banking, and reconciliation work.
POSITION TYPE: Open ended contract. Hybrid after training (3 in office, 2 remote). PAY: $22.00 to $25.00 Per hour based on education and skills.
Requirements of the Accounting Specialist:Degree nice to have. Not Required. Knowledge and application of Accounting Principles and debits/credits are a must.Minimum 4 years of work experience that includes processing Accounting transactions timely and accurately. Skills with reviewing and interpreting documents and contracts, generating invoices, retrieving and processing banking information, reviewing and making payments. Reconciling information from multiple sources.Good general accounting skills and knowledge, ability to identify and follow up on discrepancies.Willingness to support various accounting related tasks.Technical skills with MS Office including strong Excel capability. Exp ith an Accounting system such as Great Plains.
Duties of the Accounting Specialist:Take part in daily revenue recognition activities, retrieving and processing information from various sources such as banking, accounting systems and web portals. Monitor and process cash receipts.Complete entries in the accounting system.Perform reconciliations, analyze accounting data, follow up, balance, and resolve any accounting differences. Obtain any missing documents or data needed to support billing and/ or resolve questions. Escalate issues of concern.Provide support for month end closing activities.Generate standard and on demand reports.Communicate regularly with all departments to get missing information or questions answered.
